After a very interesting Indaba session (Indaba is the South African word for meeting or discussion), where delegates were given the opportunity to solve an environmental problem using various problem solving skills, the fun was about to start: Delegates had the opportunity to experience the healing and beautifying powers of an African mud bath….

Although some delegates stood a little nervously on the sideline at first, absolutely nobody was spared! Delegates turned from a bunch of colourful young people, into people with a few mud streaks, into one unified mass of brown. It took several minutes (actually closer to an hour) before the delegates could be distinguished as individuals again. What fun this was to play in the mud like children!!!

Back at camp, it was time to pack and prepare for yet another adventure, a night under the stars in the bush. This turned out to be a favorite experience for many, as delegates had the opportunity to strengthen bonds, share their emotions and feelings and just enjoy the sounds of the night.

New things were also tried and enjoyed, like stokbrood (bread dough on sticks cooked over the open fire). Sleeping outside without the protection of a tent was also a first for quite a few, but being around a like-minded community of friends made us all feel safe and secure.
